The director of Design Interaction Visual Lab (DIV), Vice Dean of School of Creativity and Art of ShanghaiTech University since September 2019 and professor of Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, LA, USA. Dean, Cheung Kong School of Art and Design, Shantou University, Shantou, Guangdong, China (2011-2018).

As a professor and scholar, he focuses research on design history and theory. His field covers architecture, product design, graphic design, fashion, city planning, illustration and entertainment design. He published books in Chinese such as A History of Modern Architecture, A History of Modern Design, A History of Fashion, A History of Graphic Design, A History of American Illustration, Nordic White Night – A Tour of Scandinavian Design, Chinese Complex of Heart, etc. His books were widely taken as the guiding reference of Chinese different design institutions. 

He also works as chief design director and chief advisor of different estate companies.

The director of Center for Adaptive System Engineering (CASE), the director of Shenyang advanced materials research and development center of Institute of metal research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a doctoral supervisor. He graduated from University of Cambridge in 1992 with a doctor's degree. He was the chief scientist of 973 projects of the Ministry of science and technology of the people's Republic of China on basic problems of material computing design and performance prediction, scientific basic problems of performance oriented material integrated design and basic scientific problems of material design based on integrated computing. He is an expert in material technology and has long been committed to the research of light, high strength, high temperature metal materials and their near net forming technology. The new materials and parts manufacturing technology developed by him has been applied to national key projects in the fields of aviation, aerospace and deep sea.

The director of the Lab for Experiential and Affective Design (LEAD). He graduated from Art Center College of design in the early 1980s, and since then he has worked for several top design companies in California, such as Designworks and rks design. In 1991, he moved to Taiwan and founded I + U design office. Under the background that China's economy was turning from manufacturing era to innovation era, he assisted many enterprises to establish brand strategy. Its customers include Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, IBM, Canon, HTC, youpai, BMW and other well-known enterprises at home and abroad. At the same time, I + U design firm led by him won many international awards in the process of innovation, and soon became the first choice of many graduates and designers. Over the years, he has been at the forefront of design trends. His design works cover many places in China and the United States.

The director of the Lab for Experiential and Affective Design (LEAD). His undergraduate degree in engineering is from the Technion in Israel. His graduate degrees are in industrial design from North Carolina State University, engineering from New York University, and management from Wake Forest University. Originally from Israel, he also spent much of his career in the USA, in R&D and marketing management positions at IBM, as VP of products at Ossic, and CTO at KeyNetica and Serenium. Shimon is the co-founder of Syntheza, a California-based consultancy where he works with companies in the areas of product design, innovation, and strategy. He is passionate about education and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at George Mason University, Portland State University, and NewSchool of Architecture and Design.

Lab: The Lab for Experiential and Affective Design (LEAD)

He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from University College London (UCL), UK. His doctorate research mainly focuses on multi-agent system, reinforcement learning and generative model. Many of his research results were published on first-class international conferences in related fields such as NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCAI and CoRL. He is the primary member of UCL's EXIT, a team that developed algorithm independent of and parallel with Google Deepmind AlphaGo. He has served as a PC member of NeurIPS, IJCAI, AAAI and other world-renowned conferences, as well as a reviewer of many international journals and conferences such as ACM Computing Surveys, Frontiers of Computer Science, etc.

Lab: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Art Lab (AIDA)

An assistant professor and researcher of Center for Adaptive System Engineering (CASE). In 2015, he obtained his Ph.D. in materials engineering at RIS ó National Laboratory in Denmark. Before joining ShanghaiTech University, he worked in the University of Manchester. He has long been engaged in theoretical and Experimental Research on advanced structure characterization and performance control of high performance metal structural materials, mainly involving nickel base superalloys, titanium alloys and steels widely used in aviation, deep sea and nuclear power fields. He has published more than 20 articles in the field of metal materials (including 8 articles in Acta mater). He is now focusing on multi-scale design and characterization of building materials based on 3D printing, and microstructure characterization and performance control of 3D printing high-temperature structural materials for engines and internal combustion engines.

Lab: Center for Adaptive System Engineering (CASE)

A transdisciplinary designer and design researcher. He holds a PhD from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO). His research areas include transmedia design, posthumanism, pop culture, philosophy of technology and environment humanity. He is conducting speculations on the future of everyday life towards ecological well-being by combining design research and design practices and bringing further studies of posthumanism in design. For him, design practice is an interdisciplinary poetic and relational inquiry mode, and he used his design works as research objects to write publications. His works have been exhibited globally, such as in Stockholm, Milan, and London Design Weeks.
